Gus Hansen had a wonderful year on the World Poker Tour where he was the only one to make it to the last game in 3 of the tournaments. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on The Game Show Network where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You may remember one of the largest pots in big stakes poker history against Daniel Negreanu. He raked in a big pot with quads against Daniel’s full house. Gus has made many tv poker appearances and is considered to be one of the best enthusiasts in the world. While competing in net poker, a different side of Hansen has emerged. He frequently competes in the 200/400 No Limit max buy in of $40, 000. Gus usually buys-in for the min of Sixteen Thousand dollars and plays very poorly. He waits for a decent hand and then pushes all in. I accept that Hansen is a great poker player but certainly not even close to the regular players at 200/400no limit. Unless he is broke, he has no reason to sit at the game with the min buy-in.
Buying in for the min takes a majority of the expertise out of big stack poker. Gus is accepted to be one of the best poker players anywhere in the world but he can’t buy-in for the full dollar value. I believe television can skew our view of the real world sometimes. The greatest players in the world might be players you have will not have heard of before. Gus can be found gambling on net poker on Full Tilt. He commonly participates in high stakes omaha high and Holdem. Gus has proven himself as a tournament player. Can he use his abilities in money rounds?
