Net Big Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen

Gus Hansen had an amazing year on the World Poker Tour where he was the only one to make it to the final poker table in three of the events. Gus Hansen has appeared on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he paid $400, 000 to play. You may recall one of the largest pots in big stakes poker history up against Daniel Negreanu. Hansen secured a massive pot with quads against Negreanu’s full house. Gus has earned many televised poker appearances and is thought to be one of the best enthusiasts in the world. While wagering on net poker, another side of Hansen has appeared. He regularly plays in the 200/400 No Limit maximum buy-in of Forty Thousand dollars. Hansen generally buys-in for the minimum of $16, 000 and gambles very poorly. He sits there waiting for a decent hand and then pushes all in. I believe Gus is an amazing poker player but certainly not even close to the regular players at 200/400NL. Unless he is flat broke, he has little or no reason to sit at the table with the minimum buy-in.

Buying in for the minimum takes most of the ability out of deep stack poker. Gus is presumed to be one of the greatest players in the world but he cannot buy in for the total amt.. I believe tv can skew our view of the real world sometimes. The best poker players anywhere in the world might just be players you have will not have heard of before. Gus can be found wagering on internet poker on Full Tilt. He normally competes in big stakes omaha/8 and Holdem. Gus has shown himself as a tournament player. Can he back up his talents in cash games?
